Post-Test
The skills I need in order to be successful in 11th grade are: Participation, Commitment, Completing as many assignments, take honor classes, Take extra credit assignments if offered. These will help me next year.
I would priotize participation as a skill that teachers generally focus on, becuse when you participate you show your self and your teacher that you are learning the material and you are interesting in learning .
The skills that benefit my learning would be if I take a test I will do corrections to show the teacher that I am willing to be dedicated to my work and take that extra mile to help my grade go up.

Chemistry is similar to math becausee, they both have equational values which you solve.
Molarity: Moles of Solute
# of liters of solution
Dilution: c1(v1)=c2(v2).
How you could verify the equations for Molarity and Dilution throughout experimentation is using the equations above step by step and you will be able to get your answer.
Caculating pH : here are the equations and determine which to use when you are solving an equation.
pH=-log10[h+]
pH+POH=14
[H+]
[OH-]

Writing a lab report is like writing a 5-paragraph eesay because you have to think about what you are going to write. You have to actually take that extra step and explain our step with details so that the reader understands.
The order of Scientific Methods helps you organize your thoughts because it has specific sections where you can fit your thoughts in.
The lab report format is a way to help you organize, your work, your thoughts like the scientific method and Habits of Mind.
No, I feel there isn'ta better format which can be used while making a written-up lab report.

Summer school:

What I am most proud of these past 3 weeks is how I completed all my work and turned it all in on time, I also went above and beyond to do extra credit assignments so that I'm more sure and confident that I will past. I feel my grade is what I wanted, because I knew for a fact if I worked hard I would get a grade I was satified with.

Grading System:

I liked the grading system, because it was diffrent, because I failed Chemistry first semester and I feel this way was a chance for me to be tested and raise my grade from the ground up. If we were to do the tradionally grading I would pass with at least a B. Ithink My grade would be about the same grade I have now because on majority of my test I got mostly B's a couple A's here and there, but mostly B.

Hands-on-labs:

The Lemonade Anyone lab did help me understand more about solutions and Dilutions, because it determined the concentration of sixdiffrent bottles of lemonade using qualitative and quantitive measurements. The equation that was used was Molarity: Moles of Solute
Liters of Solution
This equation actually makes everything easier to understand its an organized method which helps you solve your problem.
Yes, I believe the household Acids and Bases lab helped me understand how you can determine what an acid, base, and neutral is. It also helped me understand what pH is and how pH is used to determine solutions.
Yes, I feel confident and is ready to write -up a lab report for Biology becausenow I know the basics of writing a lab report what is needed etc.. I feel writting these two lab reports prepared me for eleventh grade, because in Biology we will be writing many lab write-ups and I have the techniques which I will be using to do my labs next year. I put in alot of effort in writting myy lab reports, because after the others critique my work I take initative and take their advice to make it better than before.

The Chem-Collective Virtual Labs:
I liked the Virtual Lab, because it if we messed up we could easily start all over, instead of in a hands-on lab if you mess up you waste lots of expensive chemicals and that would have been the end of your lab.
What I didn't like about it was it didn't give more information on how to find the chemicals needed to start your lab. I t would just sayget 0.665 dilution and I wondered where would I get it from???
Yes, There were many labs that were done my tenth grade year where we could have used the online lab instead of buying products which would be thrown out at the end of class.
Like I said before it isnt a waste and you can also work on your knowledge and computer skills while using the online lab

Lab Report
By Maleaja Cokes

Introduction:
To test household solutions using three different types of indicator paper to determine whether each solution is acidic, neutral or basic. In the beginning of the class we had to predict what we thought the following household solutions would be as far as acidic, neutral or basic.
Vinegar
Acid
Windex
Neutral
Milk
Basic
Lemon Juice
Neutral
Soda(Diet Coke)
Acid
Tap Water
Basic
S.D Bay Water
Neutral
Bottled Water

Baking Soda Solutions
Acid
Drain Cleaner

Materials:
Wide Range pH Indicator Paper
Test Substances
Red and Blue Litmus Paper
Goggles
Small Beakers or cups.
Substances:
Vinegar
Windex
Milk
Lemon Juice
Soda(Diet Coke)
Tap Water
Bottled Water
Baking Soda Solution
Drain Cleaner.

Procedure:
We had to place a small amount of the solution in the beaker/ cup. The cups were labels the of the solutions above, my partner and I carefully dipped the a strip of pH Wide Range paper into the substance and compared the color of paper to the color chart on the container . After that was completed we had to record the pH value and determine whether it was an acid, base, or neutral. For the red and blue litmus paper we had to carefully dip a strip into the substance and record the color results and determine if it’s a acid, base, or neutral. As far as the Paper Dryed with Red Cabbage juice goes it was into the substance and allow the strip to dry. At the end of the process we had to tape the strip to scale below to create a color chart for Red Cabbage dye.

Conclusion:
Throughout this whole process I have gained more knowledge of how to determine pH and how pH is used to determine whether a substance is acid, base or neutral. We test many household solutions using three types of indicators to determine whether each solution is either acidic, basic, or neutral.

Acids is a substance which produces hydronium ions, H3O+, when added to water.(+ charge = Cation.) Acids have many useslike phosphoric acid which can be used to make gasoline additives and carbonate beverages. HCI(strong acid.) on salad, HC2H3O2(Vinegar) on your salad (weak acid). The characteristics of acids is that it tastes sour, corrosive to metals, Litmus turns red.
The base is caffeine, bitter taste. Ammonia is a weak base, which produces fewer hydroxide ions in water solution than there are particles of base dissolved. A substance which produces hydroxide ons OH, when added to water. - charge= Anion. The characteristics is a bitter taste, slippery and the limus turns blue.
Finally PH is used to describe the relative acidity of solutions. PH represents the acidic and basic strengths of solution.

Guidelines for writing a scientific Paper:
This is an article which talks about Methods that are used to answer questions to find results and conclusions. The guidelines for writing a scientific Paper helps you be organized and it helps you have your explainations togther. The introduction introduces and provides the reader with what you are going to be talking about. The procedure and Methods is basically an investigation of experiments that was used. questions that might help you for results would be what were the results? How did you get them? what did you do tto achieve the results? these questions could help you with your write your results section. The useful resources are basically citations which provides websites where you got your information from.

Protocol Sheet:
The protocol Sheet is an explanation on how to write a Research Document for behavioral Biology. The method section is up to you. Here are some questions which would help you while writing your method section, What methods were used? What were the methods? How were you organized in using these methods? Did you get the information needed by using these methods. The results section should show diffrences within every time you did your lab.

Step1: Caculate the mass
Step2:Make solution
Step3: Check Molarity

In class we did an Solutions from Solids online lab which explained and gave us the species, Molarity, and the volume. For example here is a problem we had to do. 100 ml of solution that is 1.0 M in sodium cation, using sodium chloride. to solve this we had to use the Molarity equation , but we had to know what Solution and Solute is. Solution is aa homogenous mixture of 2 or more substances, Solute is an substance that is dissolved in another substance like chocolate.
The equation used was..
Molarity= # of solute
L of solution
This equation was used to determine the lab problems. We had to subsitute our information in the equation form above.

While I was reading 'The Solution to Pollution is Still Dilution' article there were many things that stook out to me. For example on page 2 where it says Pollutants in Puertto Rico. In this paragraph it talks about C-SAW staff recently traveling to Puerto Rico to meet with the members of Centro de Accion ambiental(Enviromental Action Center) and help fight a mixing zone for a municipal sewage treatment plant in the Coastal town of Barceloneta that launders nearly 4 million pounds of toxic organic solvents and other pharmaceutical manufacturing wastes every year. I had a connection with this because the tenth graders went to a water tgreatment plant, and I think it i s amazing how many treatment plants are every where besides here in Sandiego, California
